COMMUNICATION
Open supportive communication between school and home is very important if children are to receive the optimal benefits from their education. Glenvale Christian School sees itself as a community of students, teachers and parents where the correct emphasis is placed on effective communication.
If you have a problem or concern with your child’s education please contact their teacher and arrange an interview. If you are still not happy please contact the principal, and if you are still not happy then you can write a letter to the Board. We ask that parents listen to student’s concerns, but contact the school to ask for information from the teacher before making a decision on what has happened.
Please be aware that rarely, if ever, would this school rely upon students to bring home verbal messages from the school.
Glenvale Christian School has a Resolutions of Issues Policy that is available upon request from the school office.

SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS AFTER SCHOOL
1. After school all students are to go straight to the waiting area till they are picked up. They are not to go to the Library even if their parents are there. They will be picked up from the waiting area.
2. Students will be seated to wait for their parents. This means students will be in the right place and will be safely waiting for their lift home.
3. Students are only to stand up when their parents are leaving. If their parents stay and talk they stay seated.
4. In the afternoon parents need to park in the upper car park and we recommend parents come and pick up children and escort them to their cars using the crossing. This is especially important for younger students.
5. No child is to be unsupervised at school. If parents are in a meeting with a teacher the student can read quietly in the withdrawal room located between the classrooms. They can wait supervised at the waiting area till 3.45pm and then go to where their mother or father is located.
6. Students are only allowed to play on the playground if a parent is standing at the playground. No child is to be unsupervised in the playground after school.
